Canine Herbalist
My training in zoopharmacognosy was where I first met the living intelligence of plants, and from there my path naturally unfolded into human herbalism.
It was my dog Ralph, and his own instinctive wisdom, that first guided me deeply into this work — dogs really do take us exactly where we need to go.
As a qualified and dedicated canine herbalist, I specialise in holistic, natural care tailored to each dog’s unique constitution and needs. I support canine health by addressing common issues such as skin conditions, allergies, and digestive imbalances, always working with the animal as a whole being rather than a list of symptoms. My approach blends deep knowledge of herbs with a compassionate understanding of dogs as individual, sentient beings, offering safe, natural alternatives that are thoughtfully designed for their wellbeing.

Virtual & In Person Sessions
You can book a virtual or In person consultation, where I can get to know your dog, understanding their health and healing needs. I will then create a detailed plan and personalised recommendations for using herbs, oils, and botanicals to support both their physical and emotional wellbeing.
Zoopharmacognosy
In the wild, animals instinctively seek out plants and natural substances that support their health and healing. Zoopharmacognosy works with this innate wisdom, offering animals choices of herbs, essential oils, hydrosols, and other aromatics so they can select what feels right for their body at that moment.
This approach gives your dog the space to participate in their own healing, working at their own pace and in their own way. It can also offer insight into patterns and imbalances that may be difficult to detect through conventional veterinary medicine alone.
For me, genuine health means a balanced integration of emotional, behavioural, and physical wellbeing, and I have found that zoopharmacognosy offers a gentle way to support all three at once, with the dog’s own instinct leading the way.
Animals, like humans, carry their own inner knowing. They often respond clearly to what supports them and quietly reject what does not. This method meets them in that natural intelligence, rather than imposing a fixed protocol from the outside.
If you would like to explore how zoopharmacognosy can support your dog, I’d be happy to talk with you and get to know your dog’s needs. You can also read more about this approach on my Canine Herbal blog:
